Memory Quilts are special quilts made from your supplied clothing of yours or a loved ones. Memory Quilts are made with a lightweight batting which helps keep your quilt from being too heavy to use. You can add different options to your quilt to make it exactly the way you want it. All Memory Quilts are hand tied the old fashioned way unless the type of the quilt, fabric weight or the pattern requires machine quilting to optimize the look and wear of your quilt. (Machine quilting of course raises the price of the quilt and I would contact you letting you know if it must be machined quilted and the price before beginning).
You may add pictures to your quilt (you must have white or very light color Plain Cotton Fabrics for pictures to be added - or I can use white cotton fabric to add your pictures (pictures cost $5 per picture) All photos are returned unharmed with your finished quilt. Please remember to send good quality photos as the photo will loose some quality when it is scanned.
You can use any fabric to make your Memory Quilt and fabrics can be mixed and matched. Please note that the pattern and size of the blocks will be determined when I get the fabrics and will be placed in the best array to make your quilt as beautiful as it can be.
T-Shirt Memory Quilts can be made using the front (and or back panels) to make a very unique quilt and a great way to reuse all those T-shirts that we all seem to accumulate. Imagine giving a loved one a quilt made from all their favorite shirts that they didn't wear anymore (maybe too small or too large) but hated to get rid of (you know what I mean - we all have some pack rat in us). I can even make pillows to go with your T-shirt and other Quilts using the same materials.
I supply the backing material and batting for your quilt (it will be a cotton or cotton blend). I do not return cut clothing only items that have not been cut up. With the constant rising cost of shipping this is the only way I can keep my prices low and still give you free shipping and insurance.
Memory Quilts lead time is a MINIMUM of 10 weeks for (40 X 48) Infant Quilt size and 11 weeks for a Lap Quilt Size (approx size 54 X 60 size could be larger depending on your fabric patterns). I do not make bed size quilts at this time. (Lead time does not include Holiday timelines please check out the notes below).
Fabric requirements for Infant and Lap Quilt Sizes are approximately equal to 2 yards of fabric or approximately 4 large shirts for one like the picture above. (if using baby clothes then fabric equal to 2 receiving blankets).
If you want a T shirt quilt using only the fronts it would take 25 T shirt fronts. Please see picture in Quilt Gallery for example.
Please note that Memory Quilts may come embellished with ribbons or other fabrics.

Please allow extra time during the peak Holiday Seasons as ordering is heavy and configuring your quilt and it's layout takes time. Remember to ORDER EARLY for Christmas as cut off for Christmas Delivery of Quilts will be September the 5th. after that date there will be no guarantee you receive them in time for Christmas unless I tell you it's possible. Please check with me if you want to order after September 5th!!!!.
Quilts ordered after September 29th of 2008 to December 2008 will not ship before March of 2009 due to the backlog of work. Thank you for understanding!
Please note that clothing is not returned so please only send what is needed for your quilt (s) due to the ever increasing shipping rates I can no longer return fabric without charging extra.
